Abdoukarim I agree. But I think lack of good communication between the Guinean community and the authorities have taken its toll in this community here. Because a good number of them don't speak English. As it appears the authority here lack the training to handle such situations leading to catastrophic scenarios. You need to speak and understand English to be safe here in New York
Remember the case of Amadou Jallow who was shot  multiple times by the jittery NYC police because he could not follow their instructions.

 And just recently another Guinean  was shot to death by an undercover police donned in postal gears. according to reports of the incident the police identified themselves but the victim probably did not know they were police and took to his feet. the officer claimed when he catch up with him the man tried to wrestle his gun from him and the officer claimed following his modus operandi he shot him  resulting to his death. If the victim speaks and understand good English so that he can meticulously follow police instruction the situation could have been averted.
In  the case of Boubacarr, if he spoke good English too this situation could have also  been averted because as you can read from the article they said he was speaking a language they could not understood. Speaking English is a survival skill here especially when you dealing with people who replace common sense with a strict modus operandi.

  Thanks for the link. What is disheartening situation for such a young man like Mr Bah to died in a racist and xeno hobia immigration custody. Having stay in United States since 1998 the rule should give merit because over staying could be a minor offence having no criminal records. United States should be aware of the kind of authoritarian regime in Guinea. Our Government have deny our people decent living and when we migrate to Western countries, we are confronted with racist immigration rules. It is really sad. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
