Dear Sanusi,

Thank you very much for this information.
If i understand this information correctly, is it a provision of the
Constitution then that a person has to be entered on a register of voters
before they can actually cast a vote provided that all other stated
requirements have been met, or is the entry on a register not actually
necessary?

One more question: Is there anything in the Constitution regarding the
ability of the IEC to make changes to allow voters who are not on the
register to vote if the constitution is saying that one has to be on a list
to vote?

Also, the list of documents that a person has to provide in order to be
listed in a constituency are all documents that would prove citizenship, i.e,
the birth certificate and the passport since you have to produce a birth
certificate or an attestation of birth in The Gambia in order to get a birth
certificate.

However, what is the identification needed in order for a person to obtain a
national Identity card?
Has the national Identity card always been a part of this list or is this new
on this new constitution?
Sorry for the many questions.
Again, your assistance is greatly appreciated Sanusi.

Jabou Joh
