Hello Again,
Speaking for myself, as a Gambia, I am very please for both Musa Jeng and Momodou Sidibeh's contribution to this afford. Sidibeh on one hand deserve a commendation for braking the silence and speaking his mind therefore paving way for the knowledge behind the scene to prevail. I will also like to thank the fabulous STGDP for their capability and success in architecting the bringing up the apposition parties to sharing the same agenda.

However, as every concern Gambian are in a state of shock after the end of the election period and therefore looking to the next 5 years to dislodge the regime, which again is very frustrating considering the nature of daily living in our motherland and after the tireless effort of specifically STGDP and associate to uniting the opposition, which again, due to certain shortcomings regarding the miscalculation of some politicians end up failing themselves as well as the people to achieving their respective political freedom.

I am as well in the believe that, truth is what lead to freedom and thanks again to Musa Jeng for unbiasedly narrating the events as they are. Then again, truth is not "always" what we read or hear but what we realised or agreed upon and this cannot be without disagreements. As I always said opportunistic behavious came along with human existence and i wish that will not deter or continually divide the effort of STGDP hence (charity begins from home), as saying goes.

I am now talking of the solution not the problem because there is a remedy to every problem and hence those problem has came to surface, we should use them wisely to pave the way for the future architecture towards reunification which still belong to the mighty STGDP, who, due to their direct contacts with the major politicians could yet again be successful after addressing their own internal structure which was also divided through political line. I also think all these politician have learn their individual lessons and if I am proved wrong, and hence the prove is plain enough to see, then they are not fit to lead even their own individual family much more a country.

Regarding African politic, success in selling ones political ideology is not based on the set of strategies or techniques or tactics to get the prospect to buy ones ideas. Instead, I will ague, it to be the state of mind of the politician and his or her listeners as well as set of behaviors that create compiling outcomes for everyone.

  Therefore, this required
  1. a politician to know how to change his/her state and therefore the results in any situation with willingness. (For-example, the past election had obviously gone very badly for the opposition and if they fail to learn lesson from that, will they ever learn)?
  2. Getting inside people’s head and gain instance credibility and trust. (People need unity which the politicians fail to read. Therefore, if they were selected, will they rule for the people or themselves? Here you can see how politically mature people are).
  3. Direct communication with the people’s deepest, most significant desire. (That is for-example, people need security but they do not see those in the formation of the opposition who together could build the security they needed. They therefore rather stay home than voting).
  4. politicians should do researches by asking right questions from the people or prospects if you like, which will uncover what the prospects REALLY want or value and this can only be done by direct contacts
The biggest difference between a marginal vs. top achiever is their state of mind. Marginal performers let outside circumstances dictate their state. For-example; Mr.Darbo was deceived by the outside circumstances to dictate while Halifa on the other hand, a top performer who know how to take charge of his emotional state dealing with educated ones with volition or willingness. State mastery is critical in leadership.
The politicians should now ask themselves this question, what drives our state (and therefore our results) we or the voters around us?

What state are we conveying to our supporters now? Fear, insecurity, aggression? Or confidence, enthusiasm oriented?
How do we need to change our functioning and/or thinking to adopt a high performance state?
Personal comparison is not a technique; rather the place "from which you come." It's that place where you have such deep understanding with yourself, that what you say comes powerfully from within and attracts others, even before a word is spoken. True dependable power comes from personal evaluation. It's attractive and you know when you are with someone who comes from that place, again take an example of Halifa and Darbo in this case. Halifa on one hand, knows how to talk to majority of educated ones and gain their trust but is unable to get a popularity he needs to win the heart and minds of the Gambian voter but Darbo on the other hand, is able to win the heart and minds of the voters but fail to convince many educated ones. Now Darbo and Halifa should asked themselves
What dissimilar parts of ourselves get in our way to owning us true personal power? What are we saying or doing in political activities that are out of integrity with ourselves and the values that are important to us?

As an observer, I realized that people in Africa vote for emotional, not logically. The secret is to know how to uncover a prospect's deepest desires, voting motivations and emotional criteria, and using that information to best serve them. Then and only then you will get what you need from them.
  Edi
