The night is long
dark and cloudy
and thoughts linger
the maze of shifting emotions
a confusing confluence
of hopes and desires
of regrets and failures
and the crested waves
of uncertainty lolls
on the overlapping stormy waters.
The morning is radiant
beautiful in its majestic appeal
the flowers blossom
the hen cackles
the dog barks
and we rise with our hopes
the frustrations of the other day
dampens with the morning dew
and the many footprints
on the moist and cold sand
going in different directions
we carry our hopes and desires
behind the glowing fragments
of the rising sun on a cloudy sky.
