APRC Gets Political Gears for 2006 Presidential Polls

Dr Aja Isatou Njie Saidy, Vice President and Secretary of State for Women's Affairs, who doubles as the vice chairperson of the APRC, on Tuesday received over hundred T/shirts and caps in her office in State House as part of the presidential election paraphernalia.
The materials, which bear the photos of President Jammeh, were donated by one Siaka Ndure, a Gambian philanthropist based in Holland.
The Vice President commended Mr Ndure and his collaborators for what she called their laudable and timely gesture.
According to the Vice President, if every Gambian could do the same, APRC would find it easy in the forthcoming presidential campaign.
She urged Siaka Ndure to form a strong APRC supporter group in Holland.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues in Holland, Mr Ndure, a native of Barra, assured the vice president that he would continue to support the APRC and its government.
Earlier on, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Mr Lamin Kabba Bajo, also commended Mr Ndure and his friends for what he termed their kind gesture in contributing their quota to the APRC.
The ceremony, which was attended by other Secretaries of State, was chaired by Hon. Fatoumatta Jahumpa Ceesay.
