Suntou,

Animosity that Africans have towards each other is the biggest scrounge
we face.We never want to talk about it or acknowledge it, but it is
real. It is what makes it possible for the Yaya Jammehs of Africa to
not only come to power, but to prevail for as long a it pleases
them. There is always someone willing to sell their soul for a few bucks
to their own detriment and that of everyone else and Tyrants know this
and exploit it to their own advantage. Jammeh has become a real pro at
it.
Poverty is another factor that contributes to the ease with which
people can be bought with pennies, without ever giving a thought to the
fact that those few bucks are a temporary fix whereas taking the high
road and uniting around a common purpose for the common good of all is
harder but provides a more permanent solution for the common good of
all.
Then of course, there is fear which also leads people to do all sorts
of things. I never knew we had so many yellow bellied cowards in our
midst.

Without unity of purpose and acting for the common good of all, nothing
of consequence will ever be achieved. It is the foundation upon which
great ideas and great nations are born.

Indeed sister Jabou. The silent majority will even be further put off
by the fear factor. The tyrants in Africa are good at one thing and one
thing only, ESPIONAGE. They snoop on us all so much so that, the ones
you take to be reliable friend might be in their payroll. That is why,
it takes years to dislodge one criminal head of state. Many African
countries are spending a staggaring 40% plus of their GDP on security.
The magnitude of security and survellience in the Gambia is such, close
friends snoop on each other. folks make mistakes that, the snoopers are
those far away, no, they are closer than you may think.
Jah Rule sang "they make you think that there is a war, black against
white, white against black, but the real war is! war against the lord."
in our case the real problems is 'betraying our own people' by
accepting being in the pay of despots. but it will all be made clear in
the day of no excuses.

Thanks Suntou for sending this information. I am sure it will be useful
information for those amongst us who need it.
As I read this, my heart is heavy because our compatriots have to
resort to
seeking asylum or to being=2
0refugees.
It reminds us that not only do we have to resolve to fight even harder
to get
rid of tyranny in The Gambia, but it re-emphasizes the sad fact that
Africa
needs to get it's house in order.
