Soffie,

I agree wholeheartedly. One thing stands out. The UDP still has not come out
and proven to The Gambian people that these allegations are untrue, and that
is something they cannot afford to just sweep under the rug and ignore while
attacking each other. The BBC is not where a party leader goes to deny
allegations like these, they go to the Gambian people to address them and
explain to them and provide their proof of innocence.
If they offer no explanations and produce evidence that these allegations are
not true, then that in itself will be ample proof that they do not think they
owe the Gambian people any explanation and perhaps they cannot provide the
necessary proof against what is alleged. That would not present a very good
image of the UDP.
As I said before, they are just tossing the ball between the various members
of the UDP, insulting each other, and avoiding the real issue. So far, they
have made a very good game of bringing scapegoats forward, first Juwara did
it to Darboe, and now instead of Darboe prooving the allegations are untrue,
they are going to eject Juwara from the party, but the questions is:
What about the accusations and where is the proof of innocence that will
exenorate them and give them credibility in the eyes of Gambians?
No one has tackled that one yet and I am sure someone within the UDP must
realize that all these other things that they are engaged in has not answered
the pertinent question, and avoidance of the main issue here does not help
their credibility.
