By Yero Jallow A brother in wedding gown Brother of kin, hello!Right there in Sintet, hello!A salute from that younger one of yoursThat little one you fedThat little one you clothedThat little one you termed a heroThat little one you confided withThat little one you so dearly loved -YeroIndeed, so dear!My brother of kin be blessed! In my eyes, a shot of red ink -tearsIn my ears, the drums of the imaginary fiddles,Drums and all the 'tamars' ever of melodyShame on nostalgic malady!Daddy here, granny there,Brothers, sisters, aunties andAll the generation's relatives at showBut only little me afarAnd Mama, who left us together for everNever to see again till at heaven –God's willing. On that mighty Friday at roarI prayed little me, asking God AlmightyTo imaginary put me by your large companyOr at least to run my hairy ebony face in your sight's screenJust so my absence not be judged a tragedyWhen I am much more in loveMuch more in memoryMuch more in feelings than all can be seenFrom far and near of the cities and townsAll but for true you, Batch-Samba. Dearest lighted skinned brother Batch-SambaI convey my love to you todayWishing you a happy life together with AjaWhile you are in your gown's cotton wearArmed with a traditional standing swordWith your back-up brothers all around youGuarded by heavenly humans and angelsA special mercy from GodFor your ever smiley ebony faceThat reminds me of our late mama.
