Hi Haruna!
Thanks again for your insightful comments. I will keep your
suggestions in mind. You have to promise though that the remittances
won't stop. I cannot face the collective wrath of the Darboes should
they find out why the remittances stopped. Have a good day.
Buharry.

Subj: Re: Pictures From Gambia: Senegambia Highway

Great pictures Buharry. All these pictures if published in a book
format, will make a nice coffee table companion. If you consider that
keep me updated for I will desire several copies. Especially if there
are pictures of ordinary Gambian life and culture.

I notice the architecture of buildings has improved tremendously. I
think they are structurally sound also from the spans I see and the way
the structures stand. The opulence of private industry is breathtaking
for Gambian standards but I guess laundered money can do wonders. Or is
it that most Gambians are actually well-off and the numerous
solicitations we get for remittances are for disposable funds. What is
this????? The cell phone companies seem to be doing very well if their
properties are to go by or are they all leased properties???? I do know
Gambians, poor and rich, have a fascination with cell-phones.

I just keep scratching my head - why do I keep getting hit for
money???????? What??? I am suspending remittances as of today Buharry.
What??? I can't even afford my rent these folk are living in mansions
and mediterranean villas. Tell me the ordinary Gambian is not faring as
well as the commerce suggests. And aren't all these Yahya's
businesses????? You got me totally confused. I mean some of these
buildings just sprang up in a span of 5 years. What budget deficit?????
I mean whose money is this???? Senegambia area used to always be prime
real-estate area but this is heresy.

Ok I'm done. Buharry - real nice. I just wish they do better on public
facilities: Clean water, sewerage, storm drains, hospitals, schools,
roads, bridges, etc. And why does Yahya find it necessary to kill and
abduct???? I don't get it. I would have been pleased if what I see is
real and demonstrates gambia's wealth. I mean all this cannot be dinar
diplomacy. I see why it is hard to get rid of Yahya. Gambians love
fanciful buildings. No matter where they came from.

Haruna. No more remittances until I recover from this confoundment..
