The Gambia, a tiny West African country hit by serious economic crisis,
is again witnessing another major acute petrol shortages, unimpeachable
sources from Banjul, announced today. Fleets of vehicles could be seen
queing along the main Elton petrol station and other petrol outlets across
the country. Sources say, the country which is also hit by unprecedented
inflation is likely to witness another sharp hike in petrol prices.
Sources say the price for petrol may increase from D19 to D25 per liter.
Poor motorists are debating among themselves about the current economic woes
hitting the west African country. In less than one year the Gambia, had
witnessed series of pertol prices increment

Some sources claimed that their is petrol in the country, but private
dealers wanted to increase prices and are hiding behind what they called
socalled petrol shortages. Transport fares are likely to go up again.
Other sources blamed the hike of petrol prices to the depericiating dalasi,
which is declining sharply against the dollar and the pound.
