Abdoulaye Saine:

Thanks for the information on Dr Jabez Langley. I'll pass it to Arnold
Hughes. Arnold and I had a chat the other day, and he asked about Dr
Langley. Arnold told me of a colloquim held in Scotland on Senegambia
Relations in 1974 during which he (Arnold) presented a paper. Then Langley
was at Edinburgh.

Attending this colloquim were Senegalese politicians, Prof. Abdoulaye
Bachilly, then a student at Birmingham University, Gambian students in the
UK, Phoday Jarjusey I believe and Adama Mboge, also attended it. Seydina
Oumar Sey, who was Senegalese Ambassador to England at the time, also
presented a paper, and the late Omadi Diarra came from Brussels to present a
paper on the Gambia Government perspective. At the end of the colloquim, a
book was produced on the deliberations.

By the way, I have to commend for your excellent paper on the Jerry
Rawling/Yahya Jammeh Transitional Rule, published in the latest special
issue of the Journal of Military and Political Sociology. It was a great
piece of work. I was going to give Arnold a copy of your paper, but he
indicated that he already got an offprint from you.

On "Kebba Jobe", I posted my second message and then saw your advice.
Anyway, I'll await his response to my second posting.

George Sarr: Thanks for the e-mail, and I am pleased that you are okay now.
Yes, you are right; Hamjatta, Saul, Kebba Dampha, and Colley have kept the
struggle alive.

Regards,
Ebrima
