>Date: Sat, 17 Jun 2000 21:13:12 GMT

Hello Ebrima,

You would not have believed it if told a few weeks ago, but it is now
happening.

I reported a couple of days ago about how the APRC stalwarts boycotted
Tamsir Jallow's mother's funeral. Only Edward Singhateh had attended it; now
he is being criticized by Yahya Jammeh and Co. for having attended the
funeral. That tells you how disintegrated the APRC is.

Tamsir Jallow is of course furious; the APRC is a party falling into pieces.
Meanwhile, Fatoumatta Jahumpa, Aji Fatou Sallah have confided in friends
that they regret ever having gotten so deeply involved in the APRC to the
point that the entire Banjul community has snubbed them.

They are not invited to any function these days, and people run away or
avoid them completely. They (the two Fatous) are real outcasts. Some even
call them "Jammeh's informants" whenever they are seen in the public
domain. In fact, Fatoumatta is, in private, urging her husband, Sulayman
Masanneh Ceesay, not to accept the post of Chairman of the Independent
Electoral Commission which will be offered to him.

Dr Saja Taal too is busy looking for an international job. I say good luck
to him. By the way, I have also sent you a piece, in which I listed all the
other Cabinet ministers looking for work. For example, Mrs Isatou Njie-Saidy
(UN); Nfamara Jatta (Islamic Development Bank), Therese Ndong-Jatta (UNESCO
and another organization in Kenya).

But key people like me in the Civil Service have asked the dedicated
Gambians and friends of the Gambia in these and other organizations to block
all job opportunities in these organizations.

And, Ebrima, things are beginning to get so bad in the country that Yahya
may want to flee, especially given the fact that he has just bought a house
in Morroco. Well, he may succeed but the rest of his cronies will not be
allowed to leave this country.

Do you remember the helicopter story which I posted recently; the one
piloted by the two Polish? Well, information is coming out that they had
meant to land at Kanilai but ended up in Brikama. Is this all part of
Yahya's plan to flee? Is it not strange that since that news story first
broke out, nothing has been heard of it in the papers.

WELL, WE'LL KNOW THE TRUTH. Ebrima, I believe the helicopter would be his
escape machine. Anyway, please, continue to keep the heat on. THINGS ARE SO
TERRIBLE IN THE COUNTRY THESE DAYS THAT YAHYA MAY EVEN HAVE TO GO BEFORE THE
NEXT ELECTIONS.

It has just dawned on him that he will not be able to change the New
Constitution to allow him to stay an additional two years; and he cannot
apply for sick leave because everybody is now aware of that strategy. Also,
he cannot intimidate the electorate in the coming elections as he did during
the last elections; for sure, he cannot win a straight election. So he will
try to escape, but he will never escape Gambian Justice in the final
analysis.

YAHYA AND HIS CORRUPT GOVERNMENT HAVE BEEN EXPOSED. THEY WILL BE THROWN OUT
AND THEN THEY WOULD HAVE TO ACCOUNT FOR THEIR 6 YEARS OF MIS-RULE. THEY WILL
TELL US WHY OUR CHILDREN WERE KILLED. ISATOU NJIE-SAIDY WILL ALSO HAVE TO
ANSWER TO THE GAMBIAN PEOPLE. Ebrima and you guys on the L, have a nice
weekend and thanks once again to you all for all the assistance you have
been giving us. This is a great service to the motherland.

Thanks as ever!

PS: I'll try and re-send you all the postings that got deleted in your

maintenance.
