NOT FOR PUBLICATION. Excuse typos.

Alningbara Kambiya L Bantabamolu,

Despite my crazy schedule I sent my ideas for a regulatory policy framework for our Gambian film industry to the approriate agencies of The Gambia Government that am in touch with.

I am keeping my promise of contributing my quota towards this important national blueprint for the creative industry. If adopted it is going to be one of the best Film Industry Policies on the African Continent.

I wrote it in such a way that the religious fanantics will not stragulate artistic/creative freedom with their usual pervasive holier-than-thou bigotry. The preservation, modernization and advancement of the USEFUL Gambian cultural values and social cohesion through motion picture photography and allied activities are among the objectives of the policy document I prepared.

Added to that, I made sure the mistakes made by the Nigerians and others are not repeated by Gambian motion pictures practitioners. Let us hope that future generations of Gambian filmmakers will appreciate my efforts while modifying the policy framework to suit the realities of their own time(s).

Next I will try to complete the Constituent Act for the regulatory body of the film industry as part of the institutional framework for policy implementation. With this it will be easier for the Government to prepate a Bill and send it to Paliamanet to pass into an Act of Parliament so this regulatory body can start perfecting its baby steps...

USELESS GAMBIANS: AM DOING ALL THESE BRAINWORK FOR THEM FREE OF CHARGE while they are playing with their balls and "yengaling" their buttocks! Hahahaha!

As usual some people will be competiting for the headlines and try to carbon-copy or take credit while some of us are doing the donkey jobs behind-the-scenes. Am however satisfied with the role of grey eminence away from the limelights. And the study of The Gambia film industry will not be complete without a reference to my/our work.

The good thing is my names are clearly written on the documents and I sent it to different agencies concerned for record purposes. So if some fools try to take credits for what they did not sweat for, they will be disciplined. The final gazetted versions might NOT have my names on them but the records and history of the process will always have them for posterity.

Since it is matter of national interest, the final versions of the documents will be made public by the relevant authorities at the right time as we move on.

The unpaid patriotic work continues behind-the-scenes.

Alningbara
