I fully concur with Suntou on this one! It seems Mr.Drammeh needs to buy a
condo in that Northern Nigerian state now that he has retired from the GSIC
,if living in such an environment would make him feel his Islam is purer. The
fantastic thing about Gambian islam generally is that it has never been
tempted to confuse brutality for purity, notwithstanding the exhortations
of many a rabble rouser in this country under the guise of Islamic
preaching. It blows the mind though that at a time when even the saudis are
rethinking some of their obsolete, draconian rules, there are still people in
enlightened countries like the Gambia calling for the execution of a person
who has married to more than four spouses. One of the questions that
immediately comes to mind is:"What punitive measures is the learned scholar
going to prescribe for the numerous young women who get impregnated every
year out of wedlock in the Gambia here?" Because whereas there is no mention
in the Quran of what should be done to men marrying more than four, the same
could not be said of men and women having kids out of wedlock.

Regards Bass
