Mr. Joof,

The Gambian Constitution is a legal document (not instrument) that
binds citizens in the nation. Now this is what I wrote earlier:

“The acceptance of any truth in any civil society like the Gambia
depends to a large degree to the established fabric of the Gambian
political constitution ...”

I am referring here to the democratic political discourse that
constitutes civil society and NOT the Gambian Constitution. I find it
rather difficult to follow the rest of your argument because for the
most part you just go off tangent...especially those you
find “interesting” like the question of authority, my disregard to
answer your questions on Imam Fatty’s personality, etc , etc... In any
case one fact is constant, Imam Fatty is currently exploiting the moral
authority of the clergy, just like Bin Ladin and the Taliban, in order
to undermine the legitimate political order. Whether he is a good or
devout Muslim is totally irrelevant. What matters is whether he Imam
Fatty is a good citizen and exercises his constitutional rights to
respect the moral agency of other religions and the authority of an
elected president.

Ebou
