Assalamu alaikum, Habib and ramadan mubarak, I just think moon
sighting is one of those topics among Muslims which can get heated. I
posted the position from Zaytuna Institute regarding this, and they
worded it a lot more eloquently than I ever could say, and perhaps I
should have just posted their position to begin with and left it at
that. These sorts of discussions can get heated very quickly,
especially when you don't have the face-to-face communication and all
you have is the written word, you don't see people's expressions, hear
their tone of voice, etc. At any rate, apologies accepted on my side
as well. As I told someone else who brought up this issue on another
list, I just told them to go with what made them the most comfortable,
and gave them the most certainty.

Take care and Ramadan mubarak.

Ginny
