Nderry,
Could you shed more light on this? Who are the five Gambians who turned down the offers if there was any?

Alieu.

EDITORIAL
JAMMEH IMPORTING MINISTERS NOW- WHAT A DISGRACEFUL STATE OF AFFAIRS
Octoger 25, 2005
We praised the five prominent Gambians who say no to Jammeh's ministerial
offer. It is time for Gambians to emulate such patriotic citizens, who put
national interest ahead of personal interest. Unless, we set aside greet
and love for position, the dictatorship will continue to misrule our dear
mother land.

To some extent, some of the so called failed intellectuals contributed to
the current governance crisis in our poverty stricken country. Imagine
Balla Gaye of all Balla Gaye is being remote controlled like a toy by
Jammeh. Does Balla deserve such humiliation? Why allowing a person you can
father to be humiliating you in the eyes of the right thinking members of
society. Excuse us for our language, but we thought it necessary to
address this serious state of affairs. Balla should behave like a decent
Gambian in other words "gorr". He should not allowed to be treated like a
slave or "Jam" if you like.

Mr.Gaye, if you will heed to our advice, it is time to call a day with
Yahya. All indications suggested that you are no longer needed. It is just
a matter of reading between the lines and figure out what necessary line
of action should be taken by your humble self.

Is this the Balla who was doing well as a businessman before joining the
boys.? He was a well established businessman. We can remember his Swiss
Air kairaba Avenue office and foreign exchange bureaus he jointly operated
with his wife. What on earth do you need Balla? Not wealth anyway. If it
is position, you served the deposed PPP administration which was more
democratic than the current administration you are hustling to serve
today.

Balla, by associating yourself with such an undemocratic and tyrannical
regime, you are doing disservice to The Gambia and her people. As a former
permanent secretary with the PPP government, you ought to know better. We
challenge you to resign with immediate effect.

Jammeh is beginning to see the positions of Gambians on his repressive
regime. All what Gambians are interested about is to see your departure
from the state house. Take note of this Jammeh. This civilised way of
importing ministers will not save you from going. The time is up Jammeh.
The day is getting nearer. We seeing a new Gambia, as we piece up this
editorial. A new Gambia to be runed by honest and principled politicians
and not Jammeh (Ali Baba) and his 40 thieves. We want these thieves to go.
We rest our case.
