Good Lord Sukuna how could you forget another component of this is look who forwarded the information here......just another link, broken perhaps, in the chain gang. What is interesting about this race - That known criminals are able to participate in it?

By the way, I caught what you said about Darboe and the APRC supporters. If anything happens to that man, your statement is on record here..

Now here has got to be a new one for the books of universal politics....... a known criminal (found guilty of corruption) telling folks that one reason to vote for the APRC is so that a locked up criminal can be released from prison by the ultimate criminal. Don't you just love this campaign angle for the APRC candidate? I see now why they needed this Yanks character so badly. He can probably look pretty damn serious when he is talking pure BS.

Race for Jarra West seat gets hotter

Written by Lamin M Dibba

Monday, 26 September 2005 Yankuba Touray, the national mobiliser of the APRC and secretary of state for Agriculture, has urged the people of Karantaba, Jarra West, to vote for the APRC candidate, Musa Saidykhan if they want President Jammeh to free Baba Jobe from his 8yrs 9 months prison sentence.
Speaking at a political rally at the village, home of the jailed former National Assembly member, Touray said there are only two ways to secure Jobe’s release. “One, the court of appeals and the other, a prerogative of mercy by the President. You guys would do him a great favour by voting for the APRC,’’ he told the villagers.

Touray reminded the people of Karanraba that when Baba Jobe was in the National Assembly, the people of surrounding villages like SI- kunda, Sankwia and Toniataba never voted for him. “Why should the people of Karantaba, the birth place of APRC in Jarra West, vote for the opposition?” he asked the villagers.

He challenged the Jarra people to follow the right course and chart a new political life for themselves. “If the people of Jarra West want Baba Jobe to be freed and more development and prosperity to come to them, they should vote for Musa Saidykhan who can pave that way[for them],’’ he concluded.

Meanwhile , the opposition coalition NADD has also hit the campaign trail in Jarra West Constituency. Our reporter caught up with their convoy at Pakalinding where a rally was organised.
Landing Jallow Sonko, a former minister in the PPP regime, addressed the meeting with calls for the re-elction of Kemeseng Jammeh whom he described as a great defender of truth. “You are highly respected by all and I have no doubt that you will maintain your reputation and support Kemeseng to salvage Jarra West,’’ he told the people of Jarra West.

Lamin Dibba, a prominent Badibou politician, urged the people to vote for Kemeseng.
For his part, Nadd Kemeseng Jammeh said the people of Jarra are no fools to vote for the APRC candidate. “Jarrankas will always demonstrate their love for Nadd and come September 29 they will prove it,’’ he said
