Dear CEO Henrik Bo Nielsen of The Danish Film Institute,
Dear Editors of POLITIKEN,
Concerning the above, I hereby protest and complain against one RASMUS BRENDSTRUP, Programme Editor of the Danish Film Institute and writer for "politiken.dk" who abused his freedom of expression to blog lies and half-truth about me on POLITIKEN on the 18th August 2011.
1. On the 13th August 2011, I sent a bulk mail to people who directly or indirectly dealt with the Nigerian Film Industry to update them on the progress of my rebranding project. I did not personally pick out RASMUS BRENDSTRUP's contact. His "[log in to unmask]" email just happened to be on that list as he organized something on nollywood.
2. On the 15th August 2011, Mr. RASMUS BRENDSTRUP emailed me directly claiming that he found my rebranding concept for the Nigerian film industry interesting. I was so busy that I did not reply his email.
3. On the 16th August 2011, RASMUS BRENDSTRUP called me on my phone in Germany. Out of courtesy I listened to him. He wanted to know many things including the new brand name and logo for the Nigerian film industry I have been working on since 2008. I told him not now, he has to wait till when I unveil it to the media. I gave him the slogan but kept the name.
4. RASMUS BRENDSTRUP wanted to know if I am a true Prince as if that has any relevance to his work for the Danish Film Institute or his Danish readers of politiken. I do NOT want to be a superstar in Denmark! He lied that my Prince title is an artiste name. He did NOT write that he spoke with my father or my family on my history and background as a responsible journalist would do. He just felt comfortable lying.
5. RASMUS BRENDSTRUP bombarded me with questions about my activities and other projects. I answered out of courtesy.
6. RASMUS BRENDSTRUPH later emailed that he wanted to write about me and my project. He asked for set pictures of one of movies that I just produced. I told him to use my pictures already on the internet. He LIED that they are of low resolution. I did not have the time to sort out new pictures so I just sent him some that were readily available to pick any. To my shock Mr. Ramus misrepresented my project as a low budget trash. He did not bother to find out if I have a legally registered film company in Germany (below) or not).
He just wanted to satisfy his racist hunger for NEGATIVITY and brushing off any African self-help initiative as fake, fraudulent and joke!
7. Before the email, RASMUS BRENDSTRUP called me on my phone (on the 16th August 2011) with incredible curiosity trying to know everything. I answered some of his questions and referred him to my WACRACID FUND site.
8. He asked if I am a Prince, I told him I wrote everything on my nollywood re-branding project and on the WACRACID FUND website. He told me he did not look at that on the WACRACID FUND website. He was however happy to lie on his politiken.dk blog that a "false African prince is out to transform an enormous film industry" DISGUSTING INDEED!
9. In his hate blog/article, RASMUS BRENDSTRUP referred to one Mr. Teco Benson, a Nigerian Director who is vying for the Presidency of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), who supposedly told him I am a charlatan, fraudster and a fake prince!
10. I confronted Mr. Teco Benson on Friday 26th August 2011 (copies of email exchanges can be sent to you) and he said he NEVER said such unfounded things about me to RASMUS BRENDSTRUP.
11. When I called RASMUS BRENDSTRUP on the same Friday as I have the journalistic right of reply (write of reply), he claimed that his politiken blog/article entry is the work of journalistic investigation.
12. I told him that I have at least 15 years experience in journalism and I can send him my CV to verify so he cannot preach me journalistic ethics. I also wanted to know if he spoke with people who can verify his lies against me in a court of law and he started blabbing and threatening to put off the phone.
13. Either Mr. RASMUS BRENDSTRUP or MR. TECO BENSON is being economical with the truth. What have I done to them to deserve such a wicked character assassination in the name of free speech? I never met them in life and I never asked them for money or favours for them to call me a charlatan, fraudster and fake prince. Atleast Teco Benson emailed and clarified to bury the hatchet while the aloof RASMUS BRENDSTRUP is still living in denial.
14. It is a shame. RASMUS BRENDSTRUP is NOT a sincere person. He misused my time and trust just to lie as way of attracting cheap attention to his politiken blog. Fortunately, I did not send him the draft memorandum of understanding for possible cooperation and the new logo for the Nigerian film industry. He would have misinterpreted them more.
15. I brought this to your attention in the name of sincerely, clarification and right of reply (write of reply). I have nothing personal against RASMUS BRENDSTRUP but it is barbaric, wicked, stupid, nasty, racist, arrogant and irresponsible of RASMUS BRENDSTRUP to bend people's words, turn facts upside down and insists on practising ethical journalism.
16. It is unfortunate that narrow-minded fellows like RASMUS BRENDSTRUP can claim to be working for Respectable Institutions like the Danish Film Institute and politiken.
17. Lastly, I am telling RASMUS BRENDSTRUP that if he does not remove or modify his politiken blog posting or present journalistic sources who can confirm his lies in a serious court of competent jurisdiction, I would consult my lawyers and possibly seek the services of a Danish Lawyer for defamation law suit against him and politiken.dk.
FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION DOES NOT GIVE ANY DOG THE BARKING RIGHT TO LIE AGAINST PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING BAD TO HIM (IT) AND EXPECT NO
RASMUS BRENDSTRUP thought that since I cannot speak his language, he could just spread lies in Danish without me or anyone seeing it. THE WORLD IS SMALL!
