BREAKING NEWS:SAIHOU MBALLOW REMAINS ADAMANT ON THE MODEGAM CONFLICT OF INTEREST CONTROVERSY!!!
                   BY AN EDITOR
Following our lead story on the growing conflict of interest gripping the US based Movement For the Restoration of Democracy in The Gambia, its Chairman Saihou Mbalow has reacted sharply to the story saying that he still stood by his stance that the “Organization’s funds was not meant for any single opposition party in The Gambia.”

SAIHOU SAYS THE MONEY WILL NOW
GO TO THE PRESS AND STUDENTS!!!
In a swift reaction, Mballow who remained adamant on his position, maintains that it would be unfair for him and other group members to allow the funds to be given to one political party in the country.
The Movement for the Restoration of Democracy in The Gambia, was formed basically to promote human rights, rule of law, just and democratic Gambia. The NADD shake up seems to have divided the onetime united Organization. Its membership according to Saihou Mballow, is composed of different political settings.
It is gathered that a good number of its members belongs to the main opposition United Democratic Party, which recently formed an alliance with the opposition National Reconciliation Party (NRP). However, this information privy to us is yet to be independently confirmed by the Movement’s Chairman. What is clear though is that, there is a rift within the rank and file of the Organization. Below is Saihou Mballow’s reaction letter sent to our news room. Please read on…
PA Nderry, the Movement for Democracy and Development is an Independent body and its source of income come from contributions and the contributors are Gambians who are sympathizers of different political parties therefore, it would not be fair to take their monies and give it to one single political party. Many people do believe so.
Yes we supported NADD in the past because then all the five parties were united under one party but today that is not the case.
Listen Pa, I have no power to reject the wishes of the majority of contributors neither do I have the power to dictate any thing and I have nothing against NADD.If someone tells you that Saihou Mballow is insisting that funds should not be send to NADD, tell the person that he or she is not telling you the truth. The Movement monies is not my money, I do not handle the money but sit equally like any other member and debate about what to do. The past help that went to NADD was agreed upon by members and contributors.
Finally, I think there shouldn't be anyone who will object to my suggestion to support the Gambia Media and needy students because all of these should be view as reinforcing democracy and development. Still yet each individual member of the Movement can support the political party of your choice. Thank you
  Saihou
