And so, the liar has been caught with his pants down, yet again. Any
intelligent reader can clearly see that this write up by Yaya's own
newspaper is clearly quoting the Minister suggesting that the unceremonious
and unilateral rate increase by Yaya and the subsequent blockade of the
boarders by Wade was something that was unnecessary in the first place.
Now, did NADD increase the rates at the crossings? Did NADD blockade the
boarders? The answer is no on both counts. The minister also stated thus:

"He disclosed President Wade’s plan to visit The Gambia soon. “Secondly, he
(President Wade) agreed that we should have the follow-up committee, to be
led by the vice president of The Gambia and the Senegalese prime minister to
see how best we can speed up the process of resolving our own issues,” he
said."

Folks, what are those "own issues" that the Minister was referring to? We
know that Senegal wants a bridge built at the crossings. We also know that
since Yaya stole power, Senegal under both Joof and Wade have accused, not
NADD, but Yaya for adding to the chaos in the Cassamance conflict and both
Wade and Joof had threatened Yaya with the use of force if he does not
desist. Those are some of the issues that Senegal is talking about. Why
would Yaya then want to a render himself the fool by telling such crude lies
to the Gambian people, that NADD is the instigator between Gambia and
Senegal? Simple, he is a habitual liar and has been lying to Gambians and
the world for the last eleven years and counting. These lies are an attempt
to lay the ground for intimidation, summary arrests, and murder in the
run-up to 2006. He can do that to the slimes that supported him and get
away with it, but NADD is not going to stand idle and let him plug them one
by one. Any attempts at NADD will be responded to and if any of the NADD
leaders turn up dead unnaturally, Yaya must also plan to be buried as well.
For those that want to mount the horse called "kindler and gentler" or
"taking the higher ground", you could not be more seriously mistaken. When
a tyrant and murderer is desperate, it is suicidal to try to accommodate
them, for he shall wipe you off the face of the earth to continue with his
ways.

Let us just for a moment put ourselves in the shoes of those that are
threatened with murder, and let us ask ourselves whether we would think "new
age" or to defend ourselves by any means necessary. Commonsense dictates
that the larter is more prudent and there is something in our constitution
called "the right to self defense". The international community heard what
Yaya said, but like Rwanda, Dafur, and many areas in our neck of the woods,
they will turn the blind eye, only to wake up and moralize when the other
side defends against the assault. A third or more of the members of the AU
are dictators themselves, so you will never get redress from them. Did they
not plan to hold a summit in the Gambia, three months before the
Presidential elections? Gambians can put a stop to that, but why are we
not? In Africa, that is an extension of the campaign for a dictator and
tyrant like Yaya but the AU does not mind lending a helping hand to a club
member.

NADD must come out strong against the threats by Yaya and must make it clear
to him and the world that a murder by Yaya will be returned by a murder of
Yaya, just that simple. He has just one life to live like any of us, so let
him attempt on another's and he shall see. NADD must also tell the
Senegalese population about the lies that Yaya made using their name. The
right thing for Wade to do is to distance his government from the lies of
Yaya, but he is more preoccupied with the kill, now that he cornered the
raccoon. Thus, NADD must expose the liar to Senegambians and the world.
This is not the time to fall asleep at the switch, you do that to your own
detriment.

Senegalese foreign minister calls on Jammeh
Written by Alieu Badara Ceesay
Thursday, 10 November 2005
Senegalese Foriegn Minister, Dr Sheikh Tijan Gadio, yesterday called on
President Yahya Jammeh as a special envoy of President Abdoulie Wade.
Speaking to reporters after his audience with the Gambian leader, Dr Gadio
said: “I am here as a special envoy of President Wade to reciprocate the
great move of President Jammeh during the Holy month of Ramadan when he
decided to come to Senegal to greet his brother and friend, President Wade
to help fuse the tension that was truely unneccesarey between the two
countruies. We are one people and President Wade has sent me at the end of
Ramadan to come and present his best wishes to Jammeh, wishing him well and
also congratulate him for the move when he came to Senegal and now things
are back to normal. We need to strenghhen the ongoing process between the
two countries and I want to say there was no conflict between the two
countries.”

He disclosed President Wade’s plan to visit The Gambia soon. “Secondly, he
(President Wade) agreed that we should have the follow-up committee, to be
led by the vice president of The Gambia and the Senegalese prime minister to
see how best we can speed up the process of resolving our own issues,” he
said. He said President Jammeh was pleased to get this message and had
prayed for the Senegambian region.

Describing himself as a pan-Africanist, Dr Gadio expressed delight of being
in The Gambia. He said he truly believes that the leaders of both countries
are pan-Africanists, who have the interest of Africa at heart. He added that
he personally feels glad whenever he is sent on a mission to The Gambia as,
according to him, it is like going to another home.
