Friends,
in these serious times for the people of The Gambia, for our friends and
families, I´m glad to tell you that I among others (sorry to say very few)
really enjoyed the IFANG BONDI the other night here in Copenhagen.
For some few moments we could send our sentiments and thoughts to our
friends and families joined together, weaved /rambled together by these
fantastic musicians, their music, the instruments, the lyrics and words. For
more than two hours they took us back to those happy moments we all
remembered, we spend together in The Gambia where a mixture of different
tribal traditions into music, text, instruments made us all happy,
contemplating our daily life, the families, the traditions, the joy. I had a
wonderful night. Instead of taking the bus back home I decided to take a
long walk, thinking, dreaming, praying that we one day could come together
in the Gambia enjoying Ifang Bondi and each others company as friends.
Discuss and look into a bright future for our beloved country.
Hopefully many of you in Sweden will call each other and come together,
reunite, dance, talk, enjoy, and bring your scandinavian friends. This is
The gambia, when it´s best. And a bit of sunshine from the smiling coast,
where the skies are darkening.
