Facuru Sillah,
Until the leadership of PDOIS are ready to directly ask the Gambian
electorate for their votes, the latter would continue to assume that PDOIS
are not really interested in power. After all he who wants something must
ask for it. Nowadays, people safeguard what belongs to them and as General
Geuye of Cote D'ivoire discovered power cannot be stolen. It is very absurd
for anyone to held the view that it would be an insult on the electorate to
say to them "vote for me" on which premise PDOIS tries to rationalise its
current policy of not asking the electorate to vote for their candidates or
party programmes.
I must take issue with your assertion that "the UDP has had its hand in
blood a couple of years ago when they murdered an APRC militant".
This statement of yours either brands you as being either completely
ignorant of the circumstances leading to the death of the relevant Basse
Area Council driver or as somebody guilty of spreading false information on
this forum. Every person is given the right by law (God or man-made)to
legitimate self-defence.In case, you should plead ignorance of the facts
that led to the unfortunate death of that individual, the thruth is that it
resulted from a foiled assasination attempt on the UDP leadership, which was
masterminded by the July 22nd Movement. If somebody dies from a premeditated
attempt on your life, would you therefore be guilty to the charge of having
wilfully murdered such an assailant? It was only a blessing that the attempt
on Lawyer Darboe's life failed, otherwise the Gambia would have been on fire
by now, God forbid that. Just say Amen and refrain from spreading
misinformation.
What is even more preposterous was your comparision of an apparent evil
regime that the APRC is, to a political party headed by somebody reknown
for defending the due process of law. Your attempt to make us believe that
the UDP is as guilty as the APRC is not only pathetic but constitutes gross
dishonesty on your part.
Africa will always lurk behind in terms of development with youths like you
who choose to ignore the facts.

The yoke of oppression must soon be shattered!

BMK
