Dear Paul,
Its interesting that you mention this point;that Africans doubt their
own initiatives to solve their own problems.I once attended a very higherly
intelectully concerntrated meeting at this research institute.
The meeting was to honor some wellknown scientists on their work on
aids and some very sophisticated named diseases. Well i thought i had an
idea has to how to cure aids and all other diseases caused by living
micros. I had all my thought written down i knew i had to speak to all these
professors of Havard, Mit,Stonybrook, well you name it, they came from
everywhere France England it was overwhelming! There was one key element i
had not come aware of--that i was Black young and nameless!
Well my idea was simple: You see the way DNA analysis is done is this
certain enzymes breakdown DNA at specific recognizable combinations,
this points if specific to any particular organism that organism will
be selectively eleminated! Say an enzyme through genetic building
[which can be done] is produced to specifically break down AIds verus DNA,
well that is the end of story the Virus is Gone. How about all other microbs!
They will all succum to these techenique!Cancer cells?
Do you think i was given enough time to explain my idea to these
well versed professors no! Infact my presence seem to be a nuisance.
Paul, this society of ours has a long way to go,not only dont others value
our contributions but we cant even imagin ourselves in any better
light!
If you wonder about my idea its still lingering in my mind looking to vent!
Recently i emailed this award winning research student, she found
the implications overwhelming, how about the pharamaceadacal companies, what
will happen if such a miracle cure surface for all these
diseases including cancer malaria infections just to mention the tip of the
iceberg!
After some four emails she retracted at least for now!She knows the price to
knock on the wrong doors in medical research! AIDs can be eliminated but it
will take a dare devil to take the first plunge!
             sincerely karl
