Baba, let no one fool you, this is AFPRC. Sometime in 1995, a friend of mine
joined The Gambia National Army. On one of his weekends home while still in
training, he complained to me that they were being told that civilians are
their enemies. The Gambia National Army as it is today, is just like The
J22nd Movement. Dont get me wrong there are still some professional soldiers
who initially joined the army to make a career out of it, however, they are
so few, that they make no meaningful impact in terms of maintaining
professional standards.
Omar Joof.
