Saul,

The duality of responsibility was apparent when I found myself in Washington
and New York. What was significant is the constructive engagement in search
of a solution to the problems of the Gambian people.

We hope that we will never be found wanting in discharging our own
responsibilities down here. We also hope that no one will give us an easy
way out, if we abandon our own responsibilities. This is the time to take
each other to task, as well as to inspire each other to move forward, not as
sheep requiring shepherds, but as part owners of a nation whose survival and
development depend on our collective commitment to her just causes.

Greetings.

Halifa Sallah.
