Sanusi,

Yaya's coming to power created many business tycoons (Gambian Millionaires)
overnight, himself included. It is one thing to declare one's assets and
another to justify how one acquired those assets. Therein lies the rub.
None can tell you that they were able to become what they are today from the
salaries they earned. What's bedeviling about it all is the dishonesty that
people have taken on without batting an eye. Johm ak Ngor took a backseat
and I am hoping that it will be brought to the front again so that when you
look someone in the eye, it will be with honesty, not defiance in your
dishonesty. To borrow a term of Tombong's from another posting, Yaya is
surrounded by 'Kakataars' with no equals, those who are obvious and the sly
ones. We can read them and we know some of them.

Soffie

Tombong

It seems President Jammeh's latest edict will mean YOU
will have to declare how you acquired all those
assets. Are you willing to declare how AMRA and other
business ventures that you once managed came into
existence ??? Where did you get the money to fund such
business projects??

Please note that this is just an HONEST question with
no intention of ill-will or malice.

Thanks

Sanusi Owens

Operation no Compromise has is taking a new dimension.
Yesterday, I was at the airport to welcome the
President from Guinea Conakry and during his usual
press conference, he revealed a new dimension of
Operation no Compromise.

All public officers during his tenure (July 22nd 1994
to date) would have to justify where they got their
assets. He said, "from 1994 to date, every one must
explain how he got his assets. This is going to
complete my "Operation no Compromise". If your
relative has built a mansion, tell him to work out how
he got it with justified documents or (he will) go to
jail."

All including myself will have to justify whatever
assets we have. This a welcome move, it will clear the
air and the real KAKATARs will be revealed. The truth
shall set us free. This will include all past and
present public officials.

The President has to be given credit for this bold
move. He is tackling corruption in his own style.

PEACE

Tombong Saidy
