Subject: The Gambia's national day celebration at Expo 2000/Hannover

On August 22nd The Gambia will celebrate its national day at the Expo
2000.
The programme, to be honoured by the vice-president mrs. Isatou
Njie-Saidy, will include a performance by Tata Ding Ding & band,
sessions of bugarabu drumming and kumpo dancers and a show of Gambian
costumes.

We were quite surprised to recieve a couple of days ago a fax from the
Gambian Expo 2000 team that - as the highlight and finale of the
Gambia's celebration - an Afro-Manding evening featuring IFANG BONDI has
been intended.

According to the Gambian team's spokesperson 300 free admisssion tickets
are to be distributed - or have been distributed by now - to the local
Gambian community to attend the event.

To avoid possible disappointment, especially among those who expect to
see Ifang Bondi, we like to inform that Ifang Bondi are NOT to perform
at the above mentioned event.

Management Ifang Bondi
