Hi folks,

I was searching for info about the head of the Catholic Church in The Gambia, and
guess what I found? HMS Gambia! What a surprise to learn that this war ship was
launched in 1940, and loaned to the Royal New Zealand Navy between 1943 and 1946.
She was returned to the Royal Navy, after the RNZN service, and was finally broken up
in 1968. Too bad. I only wish we had the good sense back then to take it, and keep
it as a naval musuem. But then again, I just might be getting too nostalgic ... For
more on this vessel, her crew, and times, check out:

And by the way, who is the head of the Catholic Church in The Gambia, and what is his
address? Thanks in advance for your help.

Katim
