The incidence of law enforcement officers acting God is becoming rather too
common these days. It was just a few days ago that two airport security
officers who are supposed to screen passengers in order to put a stop to
the rampant incidence of drug trafficking were arrested by their colleagues
after noticing that they were trying to smuggle the hand luggage of a
Briton pass the screening machines. When the Briton's hand luggage was
searched, it was found to contain a significant amount of Canabish.

Please read on.

Have a good day, Gassa.

Two officers of the Immigration Department were picked up by police
yesterday for questioning over missing money belonging to a Guinean foreign
exchange dealer.

The officers, Lamin Bajo and Jerreh Jatta - who were raiding some foreign
exchange dealers in Banjul- had a brawl with one Omar Jallow. Jallow was
said to have resisted arrest following which he engaged in a brawl with the
two officers.

He later claimed that his bag containing money was missing after the
scuffle with the two immigration officers.

According to relatives of the money dealer, an undisclosed amount of
Dalasis and other foreign currencies were in the bag.

Many Guinean foreign exchange dealers have complained about alleged
harassment from the Immigration Department. The Immigration PRO could not
be reached for comment.
