                                   BY OUR DIPLOMATIC CORRESPONDENT

The half a million United States dollars law suit brought against the administration of President Yahya Jammeh, by a US lobby Group called EAW GROUP INC has taken a dramatic twist with four top Gambia government officials summoned to testify in a Washington DC court scheduled for Monday November 28TH, 2005, The ALLGAMBIAN online Newspaper can comfortably reveal.

  JAMMEH IN US LAW
  SUIT

EAW Group represented by THOMAS HA QUEEN law firm, in a civil suit case number titled 102-CV-2425 had notified the following Gambian authorities Messrs Ambassador Grey-Johnson, Gambia's representative at the United Nations Security Council, James Kujabi, former Deputy Chief Protocol Officer at the office of the Presidency in Banjul, now residing in New York City, John P Bojang, Gambia's ambassador to Taiwan and Famara Jatta, Governor of The Central Bank of The Gambia about the said law suit scheduled to be heard on Monday at a Washington court.

Ambassador Johnson is scheduled to give his side of the story to the District Court of Columbia on November 28, while James Kujabi is booked for November 29, Ambassador John P Bojang, November 29 and Famara Jatta December 2ND 2005.

This paper has been reliably informed by highly placed authoritative sources that Ambassador Bojang will appear via Video conference from Taipei together with Central Bank Governor Famara Jatta.

EAW GROUP INC, is a leading US lobby Group, which was contracted by The Gambian Government to market the image of the Jammeh administration to the outside world, with the sole aim of attracting US investors and recognition. A contract agreement was signed by the two parties for such a business deal, but sources say The Gambian government for some reasons failed to honour its promise to pay the lobby firm, which resorted to dragging the Jammeh government to court. This paper also gathered that despite repeated demands by EAW Group for the Jammeh government to honour its financial obligation to the firm failed.

The plaintiff in a court deposition titled "NOTICE OF DEPOSITION JOHN BOJANG" says"Please take note that the plaintiff EAW GROUP, INC, will take the deposition of John P Bojang, former ambassador of the Republic of The Gambia, to the United States of America, pursuant to Rule 30 of the Federal Rule of the Civil Procedure at 9.30am on Tuesday November, 29TH, 2005 at the office of Baker Botts, LLP, 1299, Pennsylvania, Ave, NW, 13TH Floor, Washington, DC. The deposition will be conducted with video conferencing technology, and will be recorded stenographically and by audio and visual means before an officer authorised to administer the oath." said the statement.

Investigations conducted by this paper reveals that certificate of service was effected on Ambassador John P Bojang on November, 17Th 2005 to prepare his defence on the said high profile civil action brought against the Jammeh government. Messrs James Kujabi, Ambassador Grey-Johnson and Governor Famara Jatta were also served with notice of Deposition.

According to our sources, since Ambassador Johnson and James Kujabi are physically present in the United States, they will show up in court in person. Sources say the named public officials were privy of the said contract signed between The Gambia Government and EAW GROUP INC, to sell what observer's say the "battered image of the Jammeh government." The EAW GROUP INC, wants the court to order The Gambia Government to settle the said sum of money, with interest. It is claiming loss of earning and breach of contract from The Gambia Government. Observers say the said case will likely attract local and international attention, as there seems to be non committal on the side of The Gambian authorities to put a defence on the said scandalous suit.

One of the defendants James kujabi was fired from his post about a year ago, amidst government allegations that he stole government vehicles, a charge Kujabi denied. Mr.Kujabi is said to be an uncle to the head of State Yahya Jammeh.
