Greetings to the Gambian Community,

I just joined the List today and wish to thank those who made this medium
possible. I have read Gambia-l print-outs, but I feel I need to examine
your archives before jumping into the thick of things.

First, and foremost, I am a democrat with no party affiliation. Second, I
wish to see the creation of a democratic state in The Gambia soon. In that
vein, I will do my utmost to see that goal accomplished in our country. ( I
didn't say "restoration" of democracy for a good reason.)

Anyway, we need to exchange ideas and information to facilitate the
establishment and consolidation of democracy without delay. In layman's
terms, we need to work on not only removing Yahya (he is the system), but
what to put in his place.

Enough for an introduction.
Katchikally ("Kats") Touray
