Hi folks,

I've created Bush-Hackers, a new mailing list for African computer geeks, and
people interested in programming and IT issues of concern to Africans. You can
subscribe to the list at:

        http://talk.fanafana.com/lists/listinfo/bush-hackers

The idea behind the name is a combination of the African bush, and the hacker
mentality. I've noticed that Africans are yet to make their mark in the various
programming and geek communities that have sprung up over the past few years on
the Web. Whether you are talking about Linux, Perl, or PHP, I cannot name one
African who has made a name for himself or herself. We have to change this.

The Bush Hackers list is hopefully a start that will get us to a point where we
can build a an online community, an organization, and ultimately the numbers and
skills to make the rest of the world take notice.

Please pass the word on, and bring along an abundant spirit of sharing.

Katim
