*For the Osprey I Pray*

Goodness God I am beyond

In the midst of the confused

Shifting the dust on my arm in refuge

Why they have to take, why you: none but

The thugs, the cops, the crocs, the chimps

And whoever else is after us – but if they are not,

Why so I do not know – for the sacrifice of the decent

That has disappeared of recent

In the midst of the deluge with incensed, intent

I will be the friend in limbo; not cranking up a mambo

Always steadfast with my hands akimbo

While I contemplate on the fate of our darling Rambo

For this jumbo heart of the sterling is wasting

Wherever else to seek him I pray with intent, incensed

Why so I do not know – for the sacrifice of the decent

In recent memories of the gestures and the healthful

Exchanges of years past in amity and the dutiful

At the vast serenity of the Osprey beach coast

Engulfed in the breeze of the marveled Atlantic

Beyond the horizon, I see the rays beaming straight up

Soon shall we crank up the mambo for our dearly Rambo.
