Folks, the news coming from our beloved country is extremely disheartening
and dreadful. The government must fulfill its obligation to protect every
Gambian's fundamental human rights and create a peaceful political
environment conducive for economic and social advancement. Evidently, these
essential duties of President Jammeh's regime are increasingly
deteriorating. Citizens have always been subject to all kinds of harassment
even to death by President Jammeh's ruffians.
My main purpose of writing today is to warn all these government bullies
whether they are army officials, NIA, former July 22 Movement members or
anybody who participated in these mass killings and torture of innocent
Gambians to stop immediately. These officers, whether acting alone or
carrying out military orders from their superiors have a moral responsibity
to all Gambians and could be tried for crimes against humanity. So please,
don't follow brutal orders that are in conflict with your good Gambian
personal values.
Cheers
Lamin PF Manneh
