The Gambian community in Atlanta bid farewell to visitors of July 4,
2000. An anticipated, July 4, 2000 marred with controversy, battle of
web sites and flyers has turned out to be the July Fourth to be
remembered.

The protagonist in this melodrama include: Alioune Mbye Nderr, Fugitivz,
Ousu Njie, Atlanta Gambia Community Org. (AGCO), Gambian Reunion Org
(GRO), Soccer Org, and the Gambian residence in metro Atlanta. After
months of debates, discussions, arguments, mudslinging in apartment
complexes, on the phone, online and on web sites, in the final analysis
the visitors to July 4, 2000 became the ultimate winners.

Congratulations to AGCO, GRO, Soccer Players and to the entire Gambian
community in Atlanta for making it a successful reunion. We all competed
ferociously, put in lots of stressful time, energy and finances, to put
up a show for Gambian visitors to this annual pilgrimage, and that in
the final analysis is the bottom line and was definitely worth it.
