Commissioner Khan Commends APRC Gov’t
Saturday 24th September 2005

By Nfamara Jawneh in Wuli

The Commissioner of Upper River Division (URD), Alhagie Omar Khan, has commended the APRC government for their “development efforts,” saying President Jammeh and his government has registered tremendous infrastructural developments in the past 11 years.

Commissioner Khan was speaking on Tuesday at Sare Silay in the ongoing by-elections campaign. He applauded the development projects undertaken by the APRC government, adding that the government is for every Gambian and seeks to meet the aspirations of the Gambian people.

For his part, the Alkalo of the village, Njobe Sowe, expressed his village’s unflinching support for the APRC candidate in their constituency, Janko Jawneh.

Gibi Jallow, a village elder, condemned NADD’s Sidia Jatta for bringing “no development to the village except one toilet in the past 11 years.” He thanked the Jammeh government for helping them with a pump to ease their drinking water constraints.
