Thanks for sending us an informative piece on your stance against the
Alliance. Unfortunately, I feel disappointed with the way you have
addressed the situation, rather than maintaining your previous stance of
advocating for renegotiation, you have now decided to denounce the efforts
of the alliance. As a result, I have decided to respond, giving you an
analysis as to what I read from your postings.

First and foremost, may I wholeheartedly agree with you that the events of
July 30 and its aftermath gave birth to gross violation of human rights in
The Gambia. According to statistics, around 1091 people were detained, of
which a good proportion of them were either members or sympathisers of the
