PHEW! Jobe when i first read this self-revealing and give-away passage in
your piece, i had to take off my glasses and rub my eyes twice to ascertain
whether i was making this all up. So you are admitting to vote-buying. Great.
Can you tell me why the APRC would buy their own supporters voters' cards and
deny them a chance to go to the polls to strengthen their alleged majority?
Do you now see why i claimed earlier that you guys haven't fully appreciate
the machinations of psephology and how election mood swings are determined.
Everyone knows that the UDP is a cashstrapped org that barely has enough to
transport its army of supporters talk less of buying votes to deny the APRC a
good showing at the polls. Even if we accept the Kiang East results, and
trade it on the established fact that votes have been bought, logic will
incriminate the APRC and not the UDP. This is the irrefutable point my
compatriots like Brothers Saul and KB have been trying to point out all
along. Simply because if it were the UDP buying these votes, then you
wouldn't allegedly ride to "victory with such a huge majority. I'm glad you
made the task a lot easier for us now to turn our attentions to other issues
which are now the bane of stuff in the struggle against the tyranny of Jammeh
.
Furthermore, you attributed certain remarks/assertions to a "Mr. Sanneh" -
which Sanneh is this? The Sanneh i see contributing online has not made those
attributed remarks and or comments. The said remarks were made by Jaiteh.
Finally, i agree with you that there is a need for tolerance, decency and
respect in our exchanges/discourse. Since these virtues are mutual and
earned, and your declaration of respect for me, i will strive to return the
said compliments in any exchange - so long as it is mutual and earned. To
the "dubious character" label i pinned on you earlier, i will gladly retract
it and apologise for such characterisation if you can tell me what position
you hold in the civil service and where you live [not home address but
area/region in the Gambia]. The reason for this is simple: You claim you are
a civil sevant, but the checks i have done on you so far have proven
negative. We need to ascertain the facts so we can engage in constructive
exchanges. I'm beginning to suspect you are more than one individual. All
these factors will, however, not impinge upon what i have declared above -
that i will from henceforth treat your contributions with respect and
seriousness even if we disagree - provided you remain honest and return the
compliments. Mean time, i look forward to the daunting task of changing your
heart about our pea-brained "president".
Best wishes,
Hamjatta - Kanteh
