Quarante-sept migrants clandestins africains sont morts de faim et  
d'hypothermie, après que le bateau qui les transportait fut tombé en panne dans  les 
eaux près du littoral tunisien, a rapporté lundi un journal local. Le  bateau, 
parti la semaine dernière de la Libye pour l'Italie, a dérivé en  direction de 
la côte tunisienne après un dysfonctionnement du moteur. Les  garde-côtes 
tunisiens ont sauvé seize personnes à bord, qui ont jeté les  quarante-sept corps 
à l'eau pour empêcher le bateau de sombrer. Il y avait des  ressortissants des 
pays d'Afrique de l'Ouest. Environ vingt mille émigrés  clandestins venant 
d'Afrique du Nord sont arrivés l'année dernière en Italie par  voie maritime. Au 
moins qutre cent soixante seize personnes sont mortes ou ont  disparu en 
chemin, selon les informations fournies par l'ONU et des groupes de  protection
