FOOD PRICES ON THE RISE IN THE .....GAMBIA; - Are There Any Answers?......................By Solo, Banjul Correspondent……………..May 5th, 2008Food prices are on the increase in the Gambia as it has been reported inmany parts of the developing world. The price of basic commodities especially foodstuffs has become a concern to not only the poor but also to the middle-income earners in this country. The price of rice, which is the staple diet, has catapulted from the minimum price 675 Dalasi per 50 kilograms bag to 780Dalasi and from a maximum price of 750 Dalasi to 850 Dalasi per 50-kilogram bag.
