I assume when Malanding brought up the issue of the future of Gambia-L as a topic of discussion, it was for the list members to debate the issue and collectively, if not unanimously, reach a decision and it is in that vein that I brought up the issue of mail distribution; then as now. Nothing more noting less!
Yes, there was a mix-up due my my email addresses, one subscribed to the L and the other to Gambia-talk and I used the one for the L a couple of times to send mails to Gambia-talk.
My point, which you seemed to miss, was that when Gambia-talk offered individual email distribution, I was an active participant but due to the reasons mentioned in my mail, soon lost interest after the migration when one had to log in to read mails.
It is also true that we have never talked on the phone; neither did I claim to have sent you a private mail on the issue.
I was in fact planing to do so close to a year ago but dropped it because whiles on the phone with Buharry around the same time, the issue came up; I mentioned that I wanted to send you a mail asking about the possiblities of getting Gambia-talk back to sending individual emails and remember him telling me that he had taken up the issue with you and that you were looking into the matter. I may have mentioned to him that I will write to you anyway, can't quite remember...but never came round to it.

It was in response to Malanding's mail which I suppoosed you'd read as it had to do with a topic you were taking part in.
In that mail too you'll notice that I mentioned not only my fear of Yahoo! Group's disadvantage (the possibility of not being able the retreive the archives) or my lack of knowledge of the facility, but also the fear that Gambia-talk may not be able to offer individual mail distribution.
So Laye, all I am engaged in is discussing the merits and demerits of the possibilities at hand and there is no gain saying that it is all to arrive at the best decision for the list.

absolutely no problem. You've been subscribed to GambiaTalk before the
migration and except for a couple of mix-ups you had with your multiple
personal email addresses, I knew of no issues affecting you personally.
I had to migrate the GambiaTalk list to the STGDP site sunugambia.com
because I gave my word to do so from the unset. And, I made this clear to
all subscribers of GambiaTalk. That list is since managed by the
sunugambia.com administrator, not me.
I agree with you that some find it more convenient to receive messages
from the list directly into their in-box and many have shared their view
on this with me. As mentioned above, I do not have control of the
sunugambia forums (note that this is different from a mailing list). The
intention at sunugambia is to have a forum/board instead of a mailing
list. And as far as I know, the STGDP executive is making great use of
that set-up to discuss STGDP matters in a very efficient manner. It is the
general forum/board that has been lacking in discussions. Now, others will
tell you that they do not want to clog their mail boxes with unwanted
messages; so they prefer reading what they want to read off the
forum/board and spare the space in their personal email boxes.
So, Kabir, there are advantages and disadvantages in both settings, but
that is not want I wanted to discuss here.

After reading your message, I could not immediately remember getting a
message from you - Kabir - regarding the set-up of the forum/board at
sunugambia.com. I went back to my emails and went through all personal
correspondence from you, I still could not find that particular message
you alluded to here. Please help remind me of when you sent that query to
me. And, note that I have never talked to you on the phone either.
So, please help me remember.
