The Fiqh Council of North America has decided on a astronomical 
calculations for Islamic dates. In this highly controversial 
decision, the Fiqh Council proclaims that there decision is based 
upon "fiqhi" premises! 

Really?

Ustadh Abdullah bin Hamid Ali with special commentary from Dr. 
Khalid Blankinship responds to this decision by the Fiqh Council on 
sighting the moon for Ramadhan! 

Is ruy'ah (sighting the moon) a act of ibadh? Did the classical 
jurists of Islam accept the astronomical calculations and abandon
