Gambia-L:

The unedited e-mail came from a source. I sent it earlier from my other
e-mail account, but the Gambia-L Server rejected it because I have already
exceeded my five e-mail limit. So I'll send the rest of the mails from
sources tommorow.

>>Subject: Jammeh & Imams :Retreat at Tendaba Camp to discuss Sharia
>>Date: Sun, 28 Jan 2001 16:24:42 -0000
>>
>>Ebrima,
>>
>>Sensing that he has struck a cord with a section of the Muslim community
>>in recent weeks over Sharia, Yahya has decided to extract political
>>mileage out of an issue which threatens the very unity (and some might
>>even say, the security) of The Gambia. The politisation of the Muslim
>>community has commenced by a desperate President who has sensed that the
>>very foundation of his Government has begun to shift beyong his wildest
>>imagination and he must look for an issue to divert the attention of the
>>people from his current desparate predicament. Consequently, Yahya will
>>now stop at nothing, including the polarisation of the religious groups in
>>The Gambia.
>>
>>So their retreat is scheduled to take place next week at the Tendaba camp.
>> The list of participating Imams is yet unknown but be rest assured that
>>Imam Fatty will lead the rest of the Imams in prayers during the retreat.
>>May Allah the All Mighty continue to protect The Gambia against Yahya
>>Jammeh and his cohorts.
>>
