Hamadi,
This Press Release from the organisers of the inter party meeting is a follow up from my last posting:

PRESS RELEASE: AN INTER PARTY MEETING

Under the Chairmanship of Mr. Assan Musa Camara, an inter party meeting was held on Monday 13th. August 2001
at the YMCA conference hall.
The parties represented were the PPP, UDP, NCP and PDP. It was unanimously agreed that a coalition of
political parties be formed to contest the 4th. coming Presidential and National elections.
The majority of the parties at the meeting further agreed that Mr. Ousainou Darboe of the UDP will be the
presidential candidate of the coalition.
The PDP leader could not make a commitment.
The NCP preferred Sheriff Mustapha Dibba as the presidential candidate and since this was not endorsed by the
majority, they opted out of the coalition.
It was agreed that a working committee be formed to work out the modalities of the coalition for a government
of National Unity.

Signed By Chairman

Adama
