Thanks. It's the thought that matters.  I know that you guys were concerned
about the safety of loved ones during those tense moments when the phones
weren't working well.

On Ambassador McDonald's confirmation, I was telling a friend this morning,
after receiving messages from both my daughter and the Ambassador, that the
speed with which he was confirmed by the Senate amidst all the diplomatic
frenzy in Washington following the terrorists attack, is a clear
manifestation of the importance that the Bush Administration attaches to
their Embassy in Banjul.  Selecting a seasoned career diplomat in
Amabassador McDonald to the post only confirms this. I wish him well.
