HELLO!
Will you wite for us? Collect stories? Join us on the exciting journey of
honoring women on the printed page as well as addressing a variety of
issues close to a woman's heart. Both anonymous and signed writings are
welcome from anywhere in the world. Electronic contributions to
[log in to unmask] are welcome. Also send queries/questions here.

We are Darling Pages, which was initially set up by the children of late
Hannah Augusta Jawara to pay tribute to her, to provide information about
the person of this fine lady as well as her works (both artistic and
otherwise), to encourage vigorous discussion about her, and to sell her
literary works.

I am Nema Udom, overall facilitator/director/editor of the following 6
projects.

1). Project #0004, Opened January 2nd. 2003...Call For Contributors -
Biography of Hannah Augusta Jawara 2). Project #0104, Opened April 10th.
2004...Call For Contributors - Biography of Gambian Women 3). Project
#0204, Opened April 10th. 2004...Call For Contributors - Biography of
First Ladies (Wives) of First Heads of State of Independent African
Countries 4). Project #0304, Opened April 10th. 2004...Call For
Contributors - Biography of African Women 5). Project # 0404, Opened May
26th. 2004...Call For Contributors - Burning Issues Newsletter 6). Project
#0504, NOT YET OPENED...Call For Contributors - Biography of Women

We all know that there are several gems in the form of people (focusing on
women only at the moment), who would grace the printed page, if only they
could be identified. What better way to find these people than via
everyday common people (that's all of us) writing about people we know or
knew.

We want to magnify the triumph of the human spirit and dig out women of
great character. Where there have been struggles, we want to know how they
overcame their obstacles or at least how they dealt with them. Tell us
about women faithful for several years at their work, women who have
helped and given a lot, women who have looked after husband and children.
We're looking for inspiration, the admired and amazing woman, the
outstanding and unforgettable woman...heroines from every walk of life,
alive or diseased, rich or poor, literate or illiterate, healthy or ill -
stories of love, compassion and generosity.

Respond by sending a non-refundable amount of $10 and your mailing address
(CLEARLY MARKED) so as to receive your welcome packet right away. Your
packet will include many more details such as application forms...plus you
will automatically receive 12 issues of our monthly newsletter, BURNING
ISSUES, for a whole year.

For every 500 valid responses to this letter, there will be a $500 prize
to help one person in research efforts...more details in the packet about
how to compete for this grant/s. Introduce this program to your family and
friends and let us have everyone writing.

Unanimously, those who have already wrote in have emphasized that they
are not doing this for the money but rather for the loftier ideals of such
projects. We appreciate that attitude especially as the success of these
projects will depend upon our combined efforts. It is our hope,
nevertheless, that, in addition to the obvious benefits of honoring people
in this way, we shall have the privelege of compensating contributors
financially through bonuses, according to the success of our combined
efforts. Each Burning Issues newsletter will have a monthly Financial
Report. Begin writng, interviewing and collecting information right away.
We shall print stories and biographies in the newsletter and then we shall
begin making booklets and eventually, books.

Thank you.

Nema Udom.
