THE PEOPLE OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE GAMBIA HAVE SPOKEN

Dear Gambia-L Community and Friends of The Gambia,

I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate President-elect Jammeh, his
Government and Party on winning a peaceful election. This is clear evidence
that he and his Government have been given a challenging opportunity to lead
our beloved country for another five years. I urge all Gambians to do
whatever possible it takes to assist him and our Government to serve to the
best interest of The Gambia. My conviction is that, this is the right thing
to do in the interest of The Gambia and her people.

To The Gambian People who voted, I commend you for freely exercising your
democratic rights and maintaining peace during this process. I am so proud of
you because I firmly belief that a victory for The People of The Gambia is a
victory for us all.

My congratulation also goes to PDOIS, NCP, NRP and UDP and their leaders and
supporters for running a wonderful race. I am so proud of Mr. Darboe and the
Alliance for freely conceding defeat to President-elect Jammeh.

Now that the election is over and The Gambian People have shown a strong
support for President-elect Jammeh, I urge him and his Government to look
beyond Party Partisan and involve all Gambians in and out of The Gambia in
the development of our beloved country for 21st Century. May "Allah" bless
us all.
Sincerely,

Michael Ba Banutu-Gomez
