Mr. Sambou,
With all respect, I have not said what you said. this is what you said:

"How can he say
that hirings and firings by Yaya is Yaya's business. No, it's not
Yaya's business but the people of the Gambia's. Gambia is not Yaya's
personal property and I seriously believe Ousman does not believe that
either...

What I said was:

I do not subcribe to removing ministers for reasons which could be
criminal
without explaining to the nation. None the less, I think the president
have
the right to hire/fire any misiters he thinks fits him. He does not
have to
explain if it is his personal reason...

On having the Gambians at heart, I think you are wrong to think or even
feel that you have the Gambian at heart than any other Gambian. We are
better off passing that grade level now. The gambia is important to you
just as to any of us here. Just because we disagree on issues, does not
mean that you or I or anyone here have the interest of the nation
better than anyone else. How about the few who against most odds still
went home and left the greener pasteurs behind? How could you or I
think that we have the interest of the nation more than those we left
behind? So Mr. Sambou, try to avoid making such statements to any
Gambian. What I said on the civil servants was:
"On the civil servants, i think a different measuring stick need to be
used.
No civil servant should be fired for jsut persoanl reasons being
political
or not. I think such affected folks should be able to challenege such
actions unless if they thought or knew that they did something really
bad....

Dr. Jaiteh, what I meant by saying that is the president's business to
hire and fire his political appointees is, if he feels that they do not
serve his interest which I think is the interest of the nation too,
then he should be able to fire them.He is elected to serve the nation
and I think he is doing how best he knows to do it. Some might disagree
with him, but most of the Gambians like me believe he is doing exactly
that. One thing we need to understand is that we do not have a law
where we confirm our political appointees and if they are to be fired,
then how much say do we have as citizens? I will suggest we try to
introduce some kind of provision to our system where we have a say of
who is appointed. Only then could we have some control over how the
replacement of such appointees are done. By the way, is there any
country anyone here knows where no changes are done in ministerial
level positions?
My best regards to the family. Ramadan Mubarak to you all.

Ousman Jallow Bojang.
