Apparently I also attended the political meeting organized for Jawara in
Atlanta and posted a report on Gambia-l (used by Foroyaa too).
Unfortunately questions were not allowed from the audience. And I felt
Jawara failed to learn from the monster he created for the Gambia.

The lessons seemed to be overshadowed by nostalgic chants of "Jawara Jamano"
by some hired griots. The former leader was at pains to list his regime's
accomplishments during almost 30 years in power; instead he reiterated that
everyone knew what his administration did for The Gambia. I believe
strongly that the repressive nature of the Jammeh regime has blinded some of
us to the hopelessness and corruption of the Jawara era. We ought to have
moved away from the concepts of "Gambia Jawara-ntango teh bengna!" It is
time we look to Darbo, Bah, Sallah/Jatta, etc. for leadership.

Jammeh must go!
